On August 30th, 2008, Brooklyn's McCarren Park Pool opened for one last concert before being converted back into a swimming pool in the name of city development. Over the past few years, myself and fellow Brooklynites enjoyed countless free summer concerts and art events in the space.

Although the closure of another art space is disappointing to many, this one went out with a bang. Sonic Youth headlined the recent concert, supported by Wolf Eyes, Times New Viking and Vivian Girls.
