The Littl'Ans at Ben Sherman NYC Party

The Littl'Ans made their first bit of hype when Pete Doherty picked the band to tour with Babyshambles, and since played fashion parties for the likes of Dior and everybody else.

The band looked right at home headlining the party for UK fashion brand, Ben Sherman, in New York earlier this week, and packed the store with local hipsters, mods and fashionistas.

As always, Josh Madden delivered a sick DJ set for the night.

Check out my photos from the party here.

Best Show I've Seen In A While

You know, I've seen The Raveonettes probably 2 or 3 dozen times, but their show last night at Bowery Ballroom was probably one of the best I've seen yet.

All the older material had been reworked for this new phase of the touring band: Sune + Sharin + Leigha on drums. Clearly, The Raveonettes matured over the last few records, and I feel like this tour sees the band securing their place for the long haul.

Recently, The Raveonettes released a new album, LUST LUST LUST, which has received almost straight 4-star reviews, and for good reason. Check it out yourself and you'll understand why.

Here's a few shots from the show. View the rest here on my Flickr page.

One man band.

Last night, I saw Liam Finn for the second time.

I first saw Liam last year when he toured with Pete Yorn and Crowded House. Pete said he was solid and told me to get there early for the opener, and I was glad I did.

What surprised me last night, however, was the energy level. When I saw him last year the show was solid, but the intensity has magnified tenfold since then. It's really rare you see someone who can captivate an entire audience without a full backing band.

As it turns out, Liam Finn is son to Neil Finn in Crowded House. Honestly, I was never a Crowded House fan, but I am familiar with their work and don't see any similarity between their sound, or Neil Finn's solo work for that matter, and Liam Finn.

To me, Liam Finn sounds like a less depressing Elliot Smith with more hooks.

As always, I happened to have my camera with me and took a few snap shots. Click on any of the photos to see the rest of the set.
